Mayra Bullon, M.A., LMFT

Welcome to my practice! As a therapist, my goal is to provide clients with a safe and supportive environment where they can explore past and present experiences. As clients gain insight and a better understanding of their experiences, they are better equipped to explore their role within their relationships and gain the ability to "reinvent" themselves, to fulfill their potential and begin to be more fully present in their life's journey. I feel honored to accompany my clients in this journey of discovery, hope and healing.

I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFC 51475) and a Child Development Specialist. I started my professional life as a preschool teacher, having the privilege of working with children and families and learning about the joys and challenges of parenting. I received my M.A. in Clinical Psychology with a specialization in Child Studies from Antioch University and went on to experience the World of community Mental Health. During my years in this journey, I have worked with infants, toddlers, preschoolers and older children who have experienced trauma, separation from their caregivers and other life-changing events.
In the past few years, I have also worked as an Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant, supporting the Santa Clarita Valley's Headstart and Early Headstart programs as well as other area preschools. As a consultant, I provide support to teachers and work together with the families of children who are experiencing challenges to help promote positive changes for a successful school and home life experience.  In addition, I have provided extensive training to early childhood educators in regards to mental health issues and strategies to promote healthy social-emotional development in young children.
Over the years, I have continued to seek professional development, including being a recipient of an endorsement in California through the Center for Infant-Family and Early Childhood Mental Health as a Mental Health Specialist. I have also received advanced training in Maternal Mental Health and dedicate part of my practice to assisting parents in preparation for their journey of parenting as well as addressing issues with postpartum depression and bonding and attachment issues.
